Just a few hours ago, a series of attacks took place in Duma. Armed terrorists, fully backed by the state and the IDF, attacked Palestinians and activists, injuring some of them. Arrests? Yes, six people were detained: four Palestinians, including a child, and two activists.

 Breaking the Silence

Yesterday morning, we woke up to rocket alerts. Israel began bombing Iran. As often happens when the media attention shifts, Israel seized the moment to intensify its attacks against Palestinians. Here’s what happened while the world was looking the other way

In Gaza, even under the “ceasefire”, the IDF continues to carry out attacks in Gaza almost daily, including today in Jabalia and Beit Lahiya. And since yesterday, Israel stopped humanitarian aid from entering Gaza. The IDF added that “the existing stock is expected to suffice”.

The Israeli government and the media present the attacks on Iran, among other things, as a moral mission to help Iranians resist a repressive and violent regime. Don’t tell them that Israel itself sustains a violent and repressive regime that isn’t thousands of kilometres away.

When the protests in Iran were at their peak, there was probably no country that watched them more closely than Israel. Our press covered them extensively, many Israelis expressed sympathy for the brave Iranian people, and politicians voiced their support for the protesters.

Israelis, to the best of their knowledge, live in a democracy where everyone has the right to protest without being shot or arrested. However, it is a daily reality for millions of Palestinians in the West Bank, where freedom is denied under military law.

Everyone deserves freedom and safety. It is a moral imperative we uphold here, between the river and the sea, and it is just as relevant in Iran. No one deserves to live under a dictatorship, or under bombs, or under terror. Don’t look away, that’s exactly what they want.

Get exclusive details behind her incredible look.

Glamour has learned exclusively that ahead of the event, which took place on November 4 at the Plaza in New York City, Ms. Rachel asked kids from Gaza to make artwork that told their stories, and then had their pictures embroidered onto an upcycled dress that she purchased for the event. We’re told she knows the meaning behind each artwork, and her hope is that she will elevate these children’s stories, and so many others, by wearing them tonight.

“I’m thinking about all the little ones there and what we can do for them,” she told livestream hosts Brooks and Grace Ann Nader on the red carpet, adding that she also has pictures of all the children with her.... READ MORE

Reclaim Armistice Day ... Armistice Day was created to be “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated."

From Veterans for Peace:

"Over one hundred years ago the world celebrated peace as a universal principle. The first World War had just ended and nations mourning their dead collectively called for an end to all wars. Armistice Day was born and was designated as “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated."

After World War II, the U.S. Congress decided to rebrand November 11 as Veterans Day. Honoring the warrior quickly morphed into honoring the military and glorifying war. Armistice Day was flipped from a day for peace into a day for displays of militarism.

Veterans For Peace has taken the lead in lifting up the original intention of November 11th – as a day for peace. As veterans we know that a day that celebrates peace, not war, is the best way to honor the sacrifices of veterans. We want generations after us to never know the destruction war has wrought on people and the earth.

Veterans For Peace has been celebrating Armistice Day almost since the organization's inception, with a few chapters doing yearly events. Since 2008, with the passing of an official Veterans For Peace resolution, it became a VFP national effort. Each year, chapters across the country "Reclaim Armistice Day" by pushing the celebration of peace into the national conversation on Veterans Day.

Veterans For Peace is calling on everyone to stand up for peace this Armistice Day. More than ever, the world faces a critical moment. Tensions are heightened around the world and the U.S. is engaged militarily in multiple countries, without an end in sight.  Here at home we have seen the increasing militarization of our police forces and brutal crackdowns on dissent and people’s uprisings against state power. We must press our government to end reckless military interventions that endanger the entire world. We must build a culture of peace."

This man is everywhere your bombs have been for the last 19 years, from Iraq to Syria to Yemen to Libya to Somalia and beyond.. and in Palestine he has been standing like this for 70 years in a concentration camp, under your bombs.

from Mike Hanini Odetalla

"      For all those Americans and British who, while bombing the Middle East for 17 years, refuse refugees because they are 'coming here not to work but to live off our benefits and social security' , I'd love to see you work, against all odds, like this man.

For all my fellow Arabs and Muslims who say we are useless, haven't contributed anything to mankind in decades, take a good look at the determination of your brother here.

For all those voters going out to vote on November, have some mercy on this man and the millions like him. He is everywhere your bombs have been for the last 19 years, from Iraq to Syria to Yemen to Libya to Somalia and beyond.. and in Palestine he has been standing like this for 70 years in a concentration camp, under your bombs.

Thanks for listening, thanks for caring.

Love & Peace.
