Life in the Palestinian territories: Beyond the frequent images of violence and destruction, here are scenes from the West Bank and Gaza Strip. |

Dear Editor,
Over and over Islamists make sure that Israel will attack Gaza and innocent people will be killed- ensuring that the cycle of violence will continue escalating with naive and confused 'pro-Palestine' supporters being bullied, manipulated, lied to and lured into endorsing extremism, militancy, entrenched intransigence, religious tyranny and endless war.
Perhaps "resistance" needs to start resisting resistance. One by one, individually and collectively conscientiously empowering a just and lasting peace tweet by tweet and word by word endorsing peace, justice, negotiations, diplomacy and real freedom for a real Palestinian state: A fully secular two state solution to once and for all end the Israel-Palestine conflict really is the best way forward for everyone's sake.
Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

Promote freedom of religion and conscience throughout the world as a fundamental human right and as a source of stability for all countries
"Where, after all, do
universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home -
so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of
the world. Yet they are the world of the individual person;
the neighborhood he lives in; the school or college he
attends; the factory, farm, or office where he works. Such are
the places where every man, woman, and child seeks equal
justice, equal opportunity, equal dignity without
discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they
have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action
to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for
progress in the larger world."Eleanor
