"What’s “extremist” about Ben Gvir is that he says out loud what Israel’s mainstream political establishment prefers to do quietly under the false pretense of “fighting terrorism.” At the height of the genocide, Israel was murdering a far greater daily number of children " Omar Baddar

Ben-Gvir has been making genocidal threats for years. And, as the Israeli National Security Minister and part of Netanyahu’s government, he’s been able to act on them.

The Israeli government has always worked towards the same goal—maximum land with minimum Palestinians. And now Israeli officials are saying all the quiet parts out loud. The question is, when will our elected officials actually do something?

Over the weekend, Itamar Ben-Gvir said the Israeli military should “kill 30 or 40” people in Gaza every night.”⁣ He also called for the targeted killing of Palestinians, declaring, “Not just those who pose an immediate threat. There are people there who don’t deserve to live… They are not even people.” This is genocidal speech, dehumanizing hate speech. But for Ben-Gvir, it’s just another day advocating mass death and suffering.

Ben-Gvir isn’t a random individual—he’s a senior Israeli minister openly calling for the daily killing of Palestinians. He controls Israel’s police and prison services, giving him jurisdiction over Palestinian detainees in the occupied West Bank. He spearheaded legislation imposing the mandatory death penalty by hanging on Palestinians, which the Knesset approved earlier this year. Ben Gvir is also a follower of Kahanism, an extremist Jewish political ideology stemming from Zionism; Baruch Goldstein, who killed 29 Palestinians at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron in 1994, was also a Kahanist.

Ben-Gvir’s words are grounded in Jewish supremacy and Zionism, the intertwined ideologies that are the foundation for the Israeli state, and used to justify an apartheid regime run on land stolen from massacred and forcibly exiled Palestinians.

Instead of being held to account for its countless war crimes, the US government continues to provide support, weapons and funds to the Israeli government. We demand a complete end to US backing to Israeli oppression of Palestinians. Join us: Call Congress today and tell them to stop arming Israel

Jewish Voice for Peace: Over the weekend, a premature fetus was recovered from the rubble after an Israeli airstrike killed its pregnant mother. In another strike, 4 people were killed in their car. These are just some of the scenes emerging from Gaza this weekend—losses no one should have to witness, especially when the victims are their own loved ones.

Palestinians in Gaza are already struggling each day for basic necessities while living under the constant threat of Israeli military attacks. They should not also have to endure the trauma of watching their loved ones suffer and die in unimaginable ways.

Today, Palestinians held a mass funeral for more than 100 members of two extended families killed in a single Israeli strike in 2023. Their bodies could not be recovered until now because of shortages of equipment and fuel. The funeral was held in the ruins of Gaza City's Al-Sabra neighborhood, where the families once lived.

Over the weekend, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 25 Palestinians. On Saturday, the strikes killed 7 people across Gaza. On Sunday, at least 18 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City where the unborn baby was recovered, as well as in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis. An Israeli strike hit a car on Salah al-Din Road in central Gaza, killing four Palestinians.

Meanwhile, thousands of displaced Palestinians across Gaza are enduring an extreme heat wave in makeshift tents with little access to drinking water. More than 350,000 families remain without temporary shelter, while hundreds more are displaced each day as Israeli forces expand the areas under their control and restrict Palestinians' access.

Despite the Israeli government's so-called ceasefire, the death toll from Israeli attacks continues to rise. In July, 152 people were killed in Israeli attacks, the highest monthly death toll of 2026 according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

As Israeli military attacks continue, we refuse to look away. Tell Congress: vote NO on funding war.

Act now: Fund People, Not Bombs .... from Jewish Voice for Peace "This week, the Senate will vote on Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block the sale of U.S. weapons to the Israeli military. In the coming months, it will also vote on a supplemental request by the Trump administration to fund the war on Iran that may be as large as $80-100 billion. Congress must vote to block these bombs to Israel and oppose any funding for the war. "

The Israeli military is expanding its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza under the cover of the so-called “ceasefire,” continuing to bomb families in tents, preventing the entrance of food, water and medicine, and violently displacing Palestinians into an ever smaller part of Gaza

Since the “ceasefire” began in October 2025, Israeli strikes have killed over 832 Palestinians in Gaza in daily shelling. In April alone, 111 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli military in Gaza. At the same time, the Israeli government continues to impose a deliberately engineered malnutrition crisis on Palestinians there.

Meanwhile the Trump administration, in coordination with the Israeli government, is consolidating the genocide through the Board of Peace. Despite the Israeli government failing to uphold key terms of the ceasefire, the Board of Peace is indicating that the Israeli military might resume its assaults on Gaza.

The Israeli government’s land theft is continuing. Although the “ceasefire” agreement required the Israeli military to withdraw behind an agreed-upon yellow line, last week it quietly released new maps showing Israeli forces controlling nearly two-thirds of Gaza, including a newly defined “orange line” that extends well beyond the boundaries set in the October “ceasefire.”

We see the hypocrisy clearly. The US-backed Board of Peace is allowing the genocide to continue, while the Israeli military appears to be exploring options to return to large-scale aerial bombardment, all with the aim of confining Palestinians to a fraction of their land inside of mass detention camps.

We reject this attempt at the complete erasure of Palestinian history and society. The genocide will persist as long as the US continues sending weapons and military aid to the Israeli government. Call on Congress and demand they fund people, not bombs.

Act now: Fund People, Not Bombs

As the U.S. and Israeli governments continue to wage an illegal and immoral war on Iran, the Israeli military is continuing its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, accelerating its ethnic cleansing of the occupied West Bank, and raining bombs on Lebanon.

Congress will soon have multiple opportunities to block weapons to Israel and to oppose any more funding for the war on Iran.

This week, the Senate will vote on Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block the sale of U.S. weapons to the Israeli military. In the coming months, it will also vote on a supplemental request by the Trump administration to fund the war on Iran that may be as large as $80-100 billion. Congress must vote to block these bombs to Israel and oppose any funding for the war.

Tell Congress to FUND PEOPLE, NOT BOMBS.

This year marks 50 years of honoring Land Day — a commemoration of the Palestinian ongoing struggle against the Israeli government's theft of Palestinian land. "With immense grief and rage at the horrors the Israeli military is committing in Gaza and the occupied West Bank right now, we recognize Palestinians’ deep roots in their land as we support the struggle for Palestinian freedom. We honor the steadfastness and resilience of those who have resisted land theft by the Israeli government, military, and Israeli settlers." Jewish Voice for Peace

Today marks 50 years of honoring Land Day — a commemoration of the Palestinian ongoing struggle against the Israeli government's theft of Palestinian land. This commemoration of Land Day also falls during the Israeli government’s genocide of Palestinians for the third year in a row.

With immense grief and rage at the horrors the Israeli military is committing in Gaza and the occupied West Bank right now, we recognize Palestinians’ deep roots in their land as we support the struggle for Palestinian freedom. We honor the steadfastness and resilience of those who have resisted land theft by the Israeli government, military, and Israeli settlers.

This day commemorates Palestinian land defenders from every era:

Those across historic Palestine who went on a mass strike to protest the Israeli government’s takeover of their land in the Galilee on this day in 1976;

The Great March of Return protesters of Gaza who launched weekly protests for 21 months demanding their right of return on this day in 2018;

and those who continue to resist genocide, encroaching Israeli settlement growth, home demolition, and displacement everyday—from Gaza City to Khan Younis to Masafer Yatta to Sheikh Jarrah to Huwara, Nablus, Jenin and beyond.

We mourn the tens of thousands who were killed or permanently injured by the Israeli military over the years. We honor those who rose up in 1976 and all who have risen up to fight for justice in Palestine. In their memory, we recommit to supporting Palestinians in their struggle to end Israeli genocide, settler-colonialism, and ethnic cleansing, and for their right of return.

Voice of Rabbis "The recent military operations conducted by the State of Israel are strictly political and governmental maneuvers. They do not represent the Jewish people, nor are they sanctioned by the Holy Torah. Authentic Judaism is a covenant of Divine service and the sanctity of human life; the Torah does not authorize the waging of war under the banner of the Jewish name. The true protection of the Jewish nation rests solely upon Divine Providence, not upon the fleeting strength of human weaponry or secular military power. We categorically reject the claim of those who call themselves the “Jewish State” to act on behalf of world Jewry. For two millennia, the Jewish people have lived in exile by Divine decree, guided by a tradition of patience and peaceful conduct among the nations. .."

PUBLIC STATEMENT Regarding Israeli Military Action Against Iran

The Voice of Rabbis issues the following declaration:

We pray for de-escalation, for the protection of all innocent lives, and for the day when true peace will prevail throughout the world, as the Prophet declares:

“I will banish bow and sword and war from the land, and I will let them lie down in safety.” (Hosea 2:20)

Jewish Voice for Peace denounces the immoral and illegal war on Iran launched by the United States and Israel last night.

These attacks expand the endless wars that could destroy the lives of tens of millions of people.  We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and against the U.S. and Israeli government’s imperial warmongering.
