Her father’s war grave in Gaza was bulldozed by Israel. Amid the grief and anger, she wants answers... " “They have no respect for the living, so why would they respect the dead?” Wilma says of the Israeli government."

Wilma visited the Gaza War Cemetery in 1995, braving a two-hour Mossad interrogation and armed checkpoints by herself.

She brought with her a wreath, a photo of her father and an Australian flag.

Wilma was alone in the cemetery, save for the Palestinian caretakers, when she finally found her father’s tombstone. Grave 3, Row A, of Section B, was where he lay...

Wilma Spence’s father was an Anzac buried in a part of the Gaza War Cemetery bulldozed by the IDF

“Fighting for those who love him, our darling daddy died,” the inscription reads.

Just saying the words threatens to overwhelm Wilma Spence.

In the quiet of her living room, tears welling in her eyes, Wilma shares the inscription that was carved into the now-ruined tombstone of her father, Albert Kemp, an Anzac buried in the Gaza War Cemetery.

But her father’s grave, she learned this week, has almost certainly been destroyed along with the graves of hundreds of other Commonwealth war dead, bulldozed by the Israel Defense Forces.

Wilma has had no official word, but she knows exactly where his grave was, in a corner of the cemetery that houses the graves of Australians who died during the second world war, where satellite imagery shows the worst of the damage has been sustained.

An IDF spokesperson claimed the military destroyed the graves to deal with “underground terrorist infrastructure … identified within the cemetery and in its surrounding area”, a claim that has been met with deep scepticism by families of the Anzac dead... READ MORE https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/feb/07/anzac-graves-gaza-war-cemetery-bulldozed-by-israel

This is the man behind UpScrolled: Issam Hijazi, a Palestinian Australian.

Israel took 60 family members from him in this genocide.

It pushed him to create this app.

Now it’s the fastest growing in the world and has all these billionaires afraid.

Social network UpScrolled sees surge in downloads following TikTok’s US takeover: "The app was founded last year by Issam Hijazi, a Palestinian-Jordanian-Australian technologist, with the aim of giving users a place to “freely express thoughts, share moments, and connect with others,” according to the app’s website. The team behind the app says they’re “building a platform that belongs to the people who use it — not to hidden algorithms or outside agendas.”"

Ahmed al Ahmed, the bystander who disarmed one of the gunmen during the Bondi Beach attack in Sydney, acted out of “pure conscience and humanity,” his family tells BBC News Arabic.

According to the family, Ahmed’s condition is stable, and he is awaiting further medical treatment for gunshot wounds to his shoulder and hand sustained during the attack.

In Syria, where Ahmed was born and raised, his uncle Mohamed Ahmed al Ahmed tells BBC Arabic that the family felt immense pride.

“He made us proud, our village, Syria, all Muslims and the entire world,” he says.

US visa refusal for Palestinian delegation prompts calls to move UN meeting to Geneva. General assembly session about two-state solution for Palestine and Israel due to start in New York on Tuesday

The US’s refusal to grant visas to the Palestinian delegation to the UN general assembly has led to calls for a one-day conference on a two-state solution for Palestine and Israel to be moved from the UN’s headquarters in New York to its other main site in Geneva.

Donald Trump’s White House has already refused to grant a visa to the Palestinian Authority (PA) president, Mahmoud Abbas, and 80 other Palestinian officials for the general assembly session, which begins on Tuesday.

There is now speculation that, citing anti-terrorist laws, he will also ban diplomats from Brazil, Iran, Sudan and Zimbabwe.

In 1988 the US debarred the leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO), Yasser Arafat, from travelling to New York.

But the White House is going further than before by withholding visas from the entire travelling Palestinian delegation to probably the most important diplomatic event for Palestine since the Oslo accords – a one-day event at which the UK, France, Australia, Canada and others are expected to recognise a Palestinian state if certain conditions are met, which has infuriated Israel.

Such a blanket ban has never been attempted in the history of the UN. Per Clausen, a Danish MEP who is a member of the Left group, has called for Europe to propose a temporary transfer to Geneva “both to uphold the Palestinians’ right to be represented and to... Australia fluffs its lines in the language of occupation

Maan News: Palestine urging Arab states to review ties with Australia... "Israel's illegal annexation of East Jerusalem is beyond 'pejorative' and 'inappropriate'; it is a deliberate and egregious violation, not just of international humanitarian law and consensus, but of the basic norms of responsible behavior that governs relations among civilized states," said PLO official Hanan Ashrawi.  "Trying to fabricate or distort the law to fit Israel's lawless behavior is shameful and dangerous," she said. "Brandis, whether out of ignorance or whether out of blind bias, is trying to render Australia complicit in the Israeli occupation, and is forcing it to become an advocate of international criminal behavior."
