My letter to the LATimes RE Aaron David Miller's "The Mideast peace gap: Why Kerry has failed"

Promote freedom of religion and conscience throughout the world as a fundamental human right and as a source of stability for all countries... "

Dear Editor,

The Mideast peace gap is that Israel is a sovereign modern nation state obsessed with being Jewish, and in its misguided mission to become Jewish demographically, Jews-preferred Israel has ended up being being very VERY cruel to the native non-Jewish Palestinians.

If America elected to invest its future into becoming a white Christian nation state, with all taxpayers plus multiple charities funding business adventures, job opportunities, housing subsidies, religious scholars, propaganda campaigns, land grabs and "security" for white Christians, there would be a huge peace gap here too.

Because of Israel's ongoing quest to create a Jews-preferred "democracy" there are many Palestinian men, women and children pushed into forced exile and stuck in impoverished refugees camps waiting for Israel to respect universal human rights including but not limited to the refugees inalienable right to return to original homes and lands to live in peace, clearly affirmed in 1948 by UN Resolution 194.

The core issue is that Jews-preferred Israel wants the land but not the native non-Jewish people of that land: The one state scenario gives Israel the power to continue to be very VERY cruel to Palestinian men, women and children in Israel proper as well as Palestinian men, women and children trapped and tormented in the illegally occupied territories.

A fully secular two state solution to officially end the Israel-Palestine conflict with an already sovereign (albeit reformed nonreligious) Israel living side by side in peace and security with a fully sovereign nonreligious Palestine will help curb the injustice, religious extremism, violence, bigotry and myopic cruelty that the conflict currently inspires.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab
