Israel and Hamas wage social media fight via social media platforms

"Nader Elkhuzundar, a prolific 25-year-old Twitter user from Gaza, said the recent social media barrage reached "a new level of psychological war."

"Twitter gives us a voice, but there's also a lot of misinformation at the same time. It's a tool you need to be careful using because there's a lot of noise out there," he said."

All of those who are escalating this conflict....

"All of those who are escalating this conflict—whether Israeli politicians looking at reelection, or militants in Gaza trying to force the hand of Egypt's new president or achieve some other strategic results—are gambling with the lives of ordinary people. With senior Hamas figures assassinated and rockets now falling in or near Tel Aviv, political cynicism on all sides has brought us to the brink of a potential calamity, above all for the long-suffering people of Gaza."  Hussein Ibish

Life in the Palestinian territories: Beyond the frequent images of violence and destruction, here are scenes from the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Dear Editor,

Over and over Islamists make sure that Israel will attack Gaza and innocent people will be killed- ensuring that the cycle of violence will continue escalating with naive and confused 'pro-Palestine' supporters being bullied, manipulated, lied to and lured into endorsing extremism, militancy, entrenched intransigence, religious tyranny and endless war.

Perhaps "resistance" needs to start resisting resistance.  One by one, individually and collectively conscientiously empowering a just and lasting peace tweet by tweet and word by word endorsing peace, justice, negotiations, diplomacy and real freedom for a real Palestinian state:  A fully secular two state solution to once and for all end the Israel-Palestine conflict really is the best way forward for everyone's sake.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

Promote freedom of religion and conscience throughout the world as a fundamental human right and as a source of stability for all countries

"Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home - so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. Yet they are the world of the individual person; the neighborhood he lives in; the school or college he attends; the factory, farm, or office where he works. Such are the places where every man, woman, and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, equal dignity without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world."Eleanor Roosevelt
